WHO IS THAT GIRL?!!
I think it’s Thor’s daughter in the future….. Maybe?
Its supposed to be Sigyn, the Goddess of Fidelity who, in norse mythology, is a beautiful blond woman who is Loki’s faithful wife. In the marvel universe, because she is in the comics a bit, She was meant to marry another warrior named Theoric, but Loki wanted her very much so he killed Theoric in the forest, disguised himself as the warrior and married Sigyn. When the truth came out, Odin wanted to punish Loki and Annul the marriage, but Sigyn remained loyal and so they were allowed to be together and she earned her title as Goddess of Fidelity.
She is always loyal to him, even when he pushes her away. The only myth that really includes her is when Loki is being punished by being tied down under a snake that drops poison from its fangs onto Loki, but Sigyn sits beside him and catches the poison in a bowl to save her husband who she loves.
Im 99.8% sure thats who the girl in this comic is supposed to be.
It is Sigyn, check the fucking source yo.
Story time honey-bunches
So every Saturday I escort at the West Alabama Women’s Center, dressed like this to piss off the anti-choice protesters and be a sort of surreal relief to the women coming into the clinic (although my shirt has come untucked in this pic). After escorting I go to lunch somewhere with the other escorts and I don’t bother changing because it’s super uncomfortable for me to switch gender expressions so quickly and go from this fabulousness above, to very butch black jeans and leather boots. As much as I love them, I need some down time before changing into them.
On this particular Saturday the protesters left blessedly early, and we all decided to head to Waffle House.
Because of the marathon, we decided to not go to the one near campus because we thought it would be packed, so we all went to the one on McFarland.
This was a mistake.
The Waffle House was packed and before we even get in the door, as I am walking up to it a man was coming out of the Waffle House and rather than open the door and walk by me takes one look at me trough the glass and shouts “What the fuck?!” and runs back inside.
We get inside and sit down in the chairs put out so we can wait for a table to open up, and that same man walks by, looking at me with absolute disgust, and loudly declares “Man, there are kids here, I think that’s inappropriate” and walks out the door.
We wait a few minutes and the manager, looking rather angry walks up to me, stands on the side of me leaving only my way to the exit open and angrily tells me that I am “not dressed appropriately, so I’m going to have to ask you to leave”. I try to explain that, no, I totally am, by Alabama State law and by the standards of Waffle House dressed totally appropriately—and she only repeats herself, more angrily.
I am ashamed to say that I did not make more of a scene—I should have at least told her to shove it up her ass—but we all left and went to the Waffle House on the Strip.
Not only was there a table open, but the service was wonderful, and the waitress who had our table told us that the Waffle House I got thrown out of has a history of being a queerphobic space, having also thrown out drag queens who dare show up at that Waffle House still in drag—and while I don’t know how that establishment treats visibly trans* people, a trans* friend of mine said he had some pretty iffy experiences there in the past.
So yeah. The Waffle House at 3421 McFarland Blvd E Tuscaloosa, AL, is a queerphobic space—openly hostile to visibly queer people.
Fuck them, and make sure your friends know to avoid that place.
Well that is definitely going on the list of places I will not eat at on my next trip to Tuscaloosa. “Shirt and shoes required”, I see a shirt and a pair of shoes in this picture, what you are wearing is completely fine.
this video is entitled “tumblr feminists” and i prepared myself to get angry before watching it but damn if it isn’t spot on
"What they are really saying is that they hate women. They hate women with opinions who are honest and angry."
I thought this was gonna be cissexist and then it wasnt
This is so important
I would follow this woman into battle.
Comic about slurs, published in the Galago magazine last summer.
And this is really how it is. Instead of placing the blame on us and asking why we don’t say anything, ask yourselves instead why you don’t think it’s a problem that it goes unchecked.
Swear to god, some guys are terrified that girls are faking common interests to impress them and act really hostile towards anyone they even SUSPECT of doing such a thing
but then they turn around and fake a whole friendship in the hopes of getting sex out of girls, and get mad at them when it doesn’t work
and they super do not see the irony in that
